(Sharecast News) - Time Out Group announced the opening of its first market in Central and Eastern Europe on Friday, with the Time Out Market Budapest set to launch on Saturday.

The AIM-traded publisher and venue operator said the market, housed in the historic Corvin Palace at Blaha Lujza Square, spans 27,000 square feet with 11 kitchens, three bars, five event spaces and around 540 seats.

It said the market would showcase "a curated mix of the best culinary and cultural talent of the city and beyond" and would serve as the main food offering within the redeveloped Corvin Palace complex.

Time Out Market Budapest is the group's 12th food and cultural market globally and its sixth operated under a management agreement, developed in partnership with Corvin Food Market Kft.

The company said it had four more management agreement sites and one owned and operated site in its pipeline, including Time Out Market New York Union Square, which was due to open on 26 September.

Time Out's existing portfolio includes owned and operated sites in Lisbon, Brooklyn New York, Boston, Chicago, Porto and Barcelona, and management agreement sites in Montreal, Dubai, Cape Town, Bahrain, Osaka and now Budapest.
