(Sharecast News) - The UK's Competition and Markets Authority said on Wednesday that it was launching an investigation into GXO Logistics' £762m acquisition of Wincanton, which completed at the end of last month.

The watchdog said it has issued an initial order to the companies as part of the investigation.

GXO Logistics - which owns Clipper Logistics - fended off competition for Wincanton from CEVA Logistics, a unit of French shipping firm CMA CGM.
