(Sharecast News) - RF solutions business Filtronic has received an authorisation to proceed for approximately 7m, from a major European defence prime for the next phase of its electronic sensor programme.
Filtronic said the ATP authorised it to commence work on the project, ahead of purchase order conversion in the first quarter of 2026.
The AIM-listed firm stated the total value of the contract was expected to be 11m, for a two-year programme, with production set take place at its new, automated microelectronics facility in Sedgefield.
Chief executive Nat Edington said: "This latest win deepens our engagement with a key European defence customer and strengthens Filtronic's position in the defence sector, a growing market for the group. As we invest in capability and capacity, Filtronic is increasingly well positioned to support long-term demand for advanced RF solutions in the defence market."
As of 0905 GMT, Filtronic shares were up 3.01% at 147.30p.
